Today is the boys’ half birthday. We happened to have some chocolate cake handy because we had a birthday party for the Build-A-Bears the kids got on Saturday (yes, with real cake and all) so I figured we ought to celebrate some more. The boys loved hearing us sing “Happy Half Birthday to You” to them as well as blowing out their candles!

We had an open house scheduled today, so to pass the time, we headed down to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. It’s been 3 years since I’ve been, and 4 since Skip has, so it was long overdue. It was a gorgeous day, so we started out by taking Chuckanut Drive and then went to Roozengaarde, which we discovered back in 2006 (when it was still free!). Even though it’s no longer free, it was cheaper than Tulip Towne, so we paid the toll and headed in.
The kids had a great time, from what we could tell. Lots of running around in the grass and a stroll through the tulip fields. They were more than a little tuckered on the ride home and the boys crashed within minutes of leaving. :)
Here’s a few shots, and the rest can be seen here: http://www.cronck.com/photos/2010-tulip-festival/

We had a fun little Easter here at the house yesterday. Calista is in Canada with her Gramma and Papa, so it was just Skip, the boys and me. The boys had fun finding eggs and gifts around the living room, eating too much candy, getting a major sugar high then crashing hard and turning into complete spazzes by bedtime. It’s what Easter’s all about, right?
Seems we never took pictures of the boys finding their loot, but here’s a few of dying Easter eggs the night before.

One picture of each kid, that is.
